Banyan Tree Phuket – DoublePool Villas - Bedroom

Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 10th April 2012 – The rich traditions and deep cultural legacy of Thai culture can be best explored through a stay at DoublePool Villas by Banyan Tree in Phuket, where every touchpoint of the guest experience brings authentic Thailand to life in this private estate. From the design of each villa to dining options, spa treatments and an intimate lantern release ceremony, guests can immerse themselves in the myriad delights of this Land of Smiles.

Each villa in the 24-suite enclave of the DoublePool Villas reflects traditional Thai style with high-peak thatched roofs to create a sense of place as soon as guests step in. Contemporary Thai interiors with delicate wood accents and décor adorned in fine Thai silk grace every room. Every villa is set within its own grounds surrounding a saltwater lagoon, and features a 14.5 metre-long infinity pool, as well as a glass-walled master bedroom on a “floating” pavilion surrounded by a secluded wading pool. From 1 March to 31 October, guests can enjoy a complimentary in-villa dining experience at any point during their stay with a personal villa host ready to serve. Traditional Thai delicacies such as Chuchi Goong (King prawns in red curry), Goong Mong-gorn Ob Namprik (Phuket lobster with tom yum paste) to Poo Dum Phad Prik Thai (Stir-fried black crab with pepper and chilli) are just a few of the menu items to experience.

Banyan Tree Spa offers a selection of classic Thai therapies inspired by ancient healing traditions passed down from generation to generation. As guests relax in open-air spa pavilions, they can enjoy treatments such as the Thai Ginger Healer for him which restores the skin to its natural balance and radiance with a ginger scrub, Thai herbal heat treatment and Herbal Enhancer, a soothing body wrap consisting of tangerine, cucumber, honey, the Thai herb plai, mint and turmeric. A Yoga Massage follows to improve circulation and flexibility with gentle and therapeutic stretching. For her, the Thai Beauty Ritual includes the refreshing Thai lulur scrub, a nourishing pumpkin body conditioner, and finally a facial massage for the ultimate rejuvenation. Each session is priced at THB 7,500 and consists of a 150-minute treatment and 30 minutes of refreshment and relaxation.

On the final night of a guests’ stay, a traditional sky lantern called the Comb Loy will be prepared. Made of bamboo, Saa paper and burning fuel, releasing lanterns while saying a prayer is a time-honoured way of asking for wishes to be fulfilled.
